Avoid “Quick Formatting” Flash Drives to Prevent File Recovery

It’s actually quite easy to recover deleted files using a free file recovery program such as Recuva But did you know that files can even be recovered from flash drives that have been formatted? Well, it’s true, and it’s just as easy as recovering files that have been “deleted”.

If you format your drives using the “Quick Format” option, the files on the drive won’t actually be over-written as the drive is formatted. Instead, only the “pointers” to the files are wiped out, leaving the files themselves intact and easily recoverable.
This is usually not a problem, but if some of the files on a formatted drive are sensitive in nature, anyone at all could use a file recovery program to retrieve them.
Luckily, there’s a very simple solution if you really want to overwrite everything on a drive to prevent your files from being recovered. Simply uncheck the “Quick Format” option in the Format dialog box before you click the “Start” button. Refer to the screenshot below:

Format your flash drives without the “Quick Format” option and you’ll be able to rest assured that your files cannot be recovered by someone else.

Tips To Speed-up your System

Follow these tips and you will definitely have a much faster and more reliable PC!

 1. Wallpapers: They slow your whole system down, so if you're willing to compromise, have a basic plain one instead!

2. Drivers: Update your hardware drivers as frequently as possible.  New drivers tend to increase system speed especially in the case of graphics cards, their drivers are updated by the manufacturer very frequently!

3. Minimizing: If you want to use several programs at the same time then minimize those you are not using.  This helps reduce the overload on RAM.

4. Boot Faster: The 'starting Windows 98/XP' message on startup can delay your booting for a couple of seconds.  To get rid of this message go to c:\ and find the file Msdos.sys.  Remove the Read-Only option.  Next, open it in Notepad or any other text editor.  Finally, go to the text 'Options' within the file and make the following changes: Add BootDelay=0.  To make your booting even faster, setadd Logo=0 to remove the Windows logo at startup.

5. Restart only Windows: When restarting your PC, hold downShift to only restart Windows rather than the whole system which will only take a fraction of the time.

6. Turn Off Animations:  Go to Display Settings from the Control Panel and switch to the Effects Tab. Now turn off Show Windows Content While Dragging and Smooth Edges on Screen Fonts.  This tip is also helpful with Windows XP because of the various fade/scroll effects.

7. Faster Start-Menu Access: Go to the Start menu and selectRun.  Now type Regedit and hit Enter.  The Registry Editor will appear on the screen.  Now, open the folderHKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop.  You should see a MenuShowDelay value.  If you don't then do the following: right click on a blank space in the right pane and select New\String.  Change the name in the new value to MenuShowDelay.  Now that we have the MenuShowDelay value, double click on it and enter 0 in the value data field.  This sets the start menu delay to 0 milliseconds.

8. Resolutions: If you are willing to do anything for faster performance from your PC, then try lowering your display resolution.  The lower it is, the faster your PC.

9. Turn off Active Desktop:  Go to your Display Properties and switch to the Web tab.  Uncheck View My Active Desktop As a Web Page.  Since the Active Desktop option under Windows 98 uses a lot of system resources, this option can have a dramatic effect on the speed of the whole system.

10. Defragment Often:  Windows 98's Defrag tool uses Application Acceleration from Intel which means that when you defragment your drive, data is physically arranged on the drive so that applications will load faster.

11. Take your PC to Bed:  Using the Advanced Power Management feature under Windows 98 gives you the option to use the sleep command.  That way, you can send your PC to sleep instead of shutting it down and then restarting it.  It's as simple as pressing a button and then pressing the same button to wake it up.  You can tell Windows after how many minutes/hours of inactivity to automatically sleep the machine in the Advanced Power Management section of the Control Panel.

12. Faster Internet Access: If you use the internet for reference and the sites you visit are rarely  updated then try the following.  In IE (the same can be done in Netscape) go to ToolsInternet Options.  Next, click on Settings... in the Temporary Internet Files  section.  Finally, select Never for the first option and double the amount of storage space to use, click OK!

13. Benchmarking: Benchmarking can be very useful when run frequently.  It can tell you how your PC's components are performing and then compare them to other machines like yours.  For example, when you overclock your PC, you want to know how much more speed you have and whether it is stable.  All this and more can be discovered using benchmarking.  An excellent piece of software for doing this job is SiSoft Sandra which can be found in the Downloads File Archive!

14. Refresh the Taskbar without restarting: If you in some way change the taskbar, either in Regedit or elsewhere, you can refresh the task bar without restarting.  Hold down Ctrl + Alt + Del, and double click on Explorer.  Say Yes to close Explorer, but no to closing Windows.  This will refresh the Taskbar and system tray.

15. Quick CD Eject: Instead of pushing the button on your drive, right-click your CD drive letter in My Computer and click on Eject.  This will also remove any icons that have become associated with the CD drive.

16. Start Up Programs:  Windows can be slowed down when programs run on start up.  To eliminate this, check your Start up folder.  You can access it from the start menu: StartPrograms,Start Up.  Another way to eliminate programs from loading even before Windows actually starts is by doing the following: Click on Start, then Run.  Type msconfig.  It will take quite a long time for this program to load, but when you finally see it on your screen, explore the different tabs.  They all have to do with how quickly your PC boots, so select what you want, and uncheck what you don't want!

17. Partitioning: A very nice little thing you can do to boost system performance.  By partitioning your hard drive, splitting one physical drive into several logical ones.

Make Your Firefox Fast

This Firefox tricks will improve the speed & load time of Firefox. And you will be able to surf faster.
Type about:config in the address bar, Then look for the following entries, and make the corresponding changes.

Check If Someone Has Hacked In Your WiFi

If your internet is slower than usual, then you should check if someone has hacked in your WIFI .In this post I’m going to show you two effective way to check this.
The easiest way is by using free utility called Wireless Network Watcher v1.55 .
1) Go to nirsoft.net and download Wireless Network Watcher v1.55.
2) Install it on your pc and start scanning. It scans your wireless network and displays the list of all computers and devices that are currently connected to your network.
For every computer or device that is connected to your network, the following information is displayed: IP address, MAC address, the company that manufactured the network card, and optionally the computer name.

If you want to check if someone has hacked in your WIFI without installing any software then you should log in your router . If anyone is connected to your network it will be shown in your router security settings. You can log into your router, usually http://192.168.1.1 . You can check your router ip address using command prompt
1) Run command prompt (cmd)
2)type ipconfig and press enter

3)ipconfig will list your ip , MAC and default gateway address. You can access to your router settings by typing default gateway address in your web browser.

4)Log in your router and look at the Home Network -> Devices, this shows all IP addresses connected to your network.

Free .Tk domain and domain forwording

This article will help you to get a free .tk domain. The .tk domain is provided by a company (.tk is a geographical level domain). Here, you can also get it freely. This trick help you to make a redirection url like yourwebsite.tk. This trick helps you to get rid of those .blogspot.com,.something.com domains. Once you get a .tk domain and when one access that url,he/she will be taken to the website you have assigned for redirection. Or in short when you go to something.tk(example), you will be taken to your website. Or .tk can help you and your users to access your website(as I said above those .blogspot.com etc) through an alternate way. So just follow these steps and share your free .tk domain and let visitors visit your blog or any subdomain blogs.
Go to www.dot.tk

search for the availability of the required domain name

If its available you will be taken to a page like this
(the given below name is only for demonstration purpose)

In the option ‘forward this domain to’ under ‘use your new domain’(first option ,see above image), give the url of your .blogspot or any other long url(most probably your websites url). You can also assign a DNS for your domain.
(This step is inevitable other wise there is no use with your domain). For example consider that my blog address is myblogslongurl.subdomain.com (ex:blogspot.blogspot.com). While registering for a .tk domain I will give this url for forwarding (step 4,let the registered domain name be bloggee.tk) . Once created, when someone goes to blogee.tk, they will be taken to bloogspot.blogspot.com. so they don’t need to type full url
Then signup with a valid email or using any social media

Then you will get a confirmation mail. Click on that link and type the code you got in the mail(recommended to activate your account)
Once done you can login to your account to use their apps and other functionalities

Blue Screen Problems in Windows 7 and How To solve This Error

The blue screen error — also known as Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) — is pretty common on all versions of Windows, be it the oldest or even the newest one. This error can get really annoying. It can even block users from logging onto their Windows operating system. As a result, the system is seemingly impossible to use at all. But what PC users should keep in mind is that they are not the only people to experience this particular problem. As mentioned earlier, it has been pretty common and, fortunately, people have found out some workaround methods that may prove to be quite effective in solving the BSOD.

BSOD Triggers
However, it is important to understand what may have triggered the BSOD. Most of the time, BSOD can be triggered by a recent change in either the computer’s hardware or software. For example, a newly installed hardware will most likely need proper driver files in order to work properly. Although it is true that the drivers are normally provided with the hardware, there are times when the driver files may happen to be corrupted. Another possibility is that one or more of the applications or software installed on the system encounters conflicts. Also, taking into accounts that drivers are software as well, they may just as well trigger the conflicts.
Yet, if the problem is not on the software, chances are there is something wrong with the hardware. It may have been damaged or installed improperly. In this case, it is always a good idea to try using the hardware in question on another computer to see if it works.
How to Solve BSOD
There are several ways that may well solve the blue screen error. The first way is to uninstall the drivers and try to install the latest drivers from the website of the hardware vendor. Secondly, it is worth trying to uninstall the device using the Device Manager utility. Last but not least, System Restore utility built into Windows may also be pretty helpful.
However, some people may wonder how they can run all these utilities if they cannot even log onto Windows. Well, the Safe Mode provided with each version of Windows is normally the answer to this. When the computer is trying to boot after passing the self diagnosis process, constantly hitting the F8 key will usually display a list of advanced Windows options, one of which is the Safe Mode. Choosing it will enable users to log onto the system yet with limited capabilities. However, it is enough to solve the BSOD.
Link

So, at this stage, it is possible to use any of the 3 possible methods mentioned earlier. The first is to uninstall the drivers. Yet, one thing that is important to keep in mind that Windows tends to leave junks behind after some things are uninstalled. Therefore, it may be necessary to launch the Registry Cleaners to clean up the rest of the troublesome drivers. Manual registry edition is not advisable for newbies because Windows Registry it`s such delicate thing that, you can easily damage Windows functionality if you’re not know what are you doing!

The second method is to uninstall the device using Device Management utility. This utility can be launched by typing “devmgmt.msc” in the command line. Once the utility window shows up, simply right click on the troublesome device and choose Uninstall.
Lastly, there is System Restore. However, this method won’t be useful unless this feature is kept active all the time. Some advanced PC users may disable it to save spaces and processing time of applications. System Restore can be accessed by clicking the Start button and then choosing Programs followed by Accessories and System Tools. Users simply need to choose a date before they install the new conflicting hardware or software and Windows will revert everything to that date. As a result, the operating system should now be working normally again.
1. Go to Start → Programs → Accessories → System Tools → System Restore

Still have problems? It’s recommended to run best registry cleaner to fix and speed your PC!
